POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE



Definition: Possessive adjectives differ depending on the person they are referring to. Possessive adjectives are the words used in place of articles to indicate to whom or to what something belongs. also with the noun they qualify in gender and number.

There are five possessive adjectives in gender: masculine and feminine.

my mi, mis
your tu, tus
his, her, your, its, their su, sus
our nuestro, nuestra, nuestros, nuestras
your vuestro, vuestra, vuestros, vuestras

Examples in Spanish:

my book is big
mi libro es grande

my books are big
mis libros son grandes

your book is red
tu libro es rook

your book are red
tus libros son rojos

His / Her / Your (formal) brother is here
su hermano está aqui

His / Her / Your sisters are here
sus hermanas están aqui

Our book is interesting
nuestro libro es interesante

Our books are interesting
nuestros libros son interesantes

Our sister lives in spain
nuestra hermana vive en españa

Our sisters live in spain
nuestras hermanas viven en España

Your dog is there
Vuestro perro está allí.

Your dogs are there
Vuestros perros están allí.

Your chair is there
Vuestra silla está allí.

Your chairs are there
Vuestras sillas están allí.
