SPANISH ARTICLES



Definition: In Spanish, nouns are either masculine or feminine. Each gender has its own article, Nouns that end in a are almost always feminine and nouns that end in o are almost always masculine, Also The difference between definite articles and indefinite articles can be talking about a specific hen, or any unspecific hotel.

Examples in Spanish:

a hotel = un hotel(masculine)
a camera = una camara(femenine)

the rooster = el gallo(masculine)
the hen = la gallina(femenime)

To form the plural of a noun, add an s to the end if it ends in a vowel.

Examples in Spanish:

the pencils:
el lapicero = los lapiceros

the grapes:
la uva = las uvas

some dogs:
algun perro = algunos perros

some female cats:
alguna gata = algunas gatas

and an es to the end if it ends in a consonant.

Examples in Spanish:

the canals
el canal = los canales

the nations
la nacion = las naciones
